As a Hebden Bridge resident, I know there is so much to be proud of here.But many of us face daily challenges, from pressures on health and social care to frustrations with unreliable trains and buses, which affect our choices about work, education and life. I live in Hebden Bridge and want to use my skills and experience to help the residents, workers and businesses across Calder ward.I am a journalist and run TheBusinessDesk.com, a business news and events company based in West Yorkshire, which employs 20 people.Previously, I worked for a financial education company which delivered workshops in schools to teach 14-18 year-olds about money and life skills in a lively and interactive way.I am a lead volunteer at Oxfam, and led on its nationally-recognised Anti-Fast Fashion Show in Hebden Bridge, and was one of the faces of Yorkshire Cancer Research's Step Out For Yorkshire fundraising campaign.
